Work With us

We are looking for people of character and courage to join our team and help lead us into the next chapter of God’s story here at St Augustine’s.

YOUTH PASTOR

Full-time | £25-30k (dependent on experience)

Love helping young people come to faith in Jesus?

Our youth ministry has undergone a renaissance in the last year or so, following a focus on prayer for the rising generation, which has seen the whole church rising in contending prayer. God has answered us in wonderful ways.

We now have a busy after-school Youth Café every Thursday afternoon and a regular Sunday morning Bible group including young people from non-church homes. Most exciting of all, when we launched the brand new Youth Alpha this January, 13 young people signed up.

Something really good is happening, but our Youth Pastor is moving on to new challenges. We are now looking for a called and gifted young leader to fan the flames of what God is doing and lead our youth ministry into further growth.

We are looking for a Youth Pastor who will be responsible for the spiritual wellbeing of the young people in our church and who will work passionately to make new disciples of Jesus among 11-18s.

WORSHIP LEADER (INTERNSHIP)

Full-time or flexible | One year

Are you a gifted musician or vocalist looking to develop as a worship leader in a vibrant and growing church?

We have a superb opportunity for a young adult who feels called by God to full-time worship ministry.

We are a church in love with Jesus, pursuing intimacy with God in sung worship, welcoming his presence, delighting in new songs and responding to the movement of the Spirit in our midst.

God has blessed us with a church family of diverse ages and backgrounds with many new believers as well as those well established in the faith. Our future worship leader will delight in serving them all, leading with sensitivity and skill, and building a team culture which is representative of who we are.

As well as being a talented musician and vocalist, you will love God’s Word deeply. You will have a dependence on the Holy Spirit who leads you to invest as much in the secret place as on the platform. You will constantly be looking for the ‘more’ that God has for us in worship, and lead the way in fasting and praying for this area of our life together.

We have a small but talented team for you to help lead. You will be coached and mentored by our Vicar Al Metcalfe, an experienced worship leader who has served in large churches and nationally with the Message Trust, and you will be supported and encouraged daily by a dynamic staff team.

This role is designed as a one-year internship for a gifted young adult aged 18-25, perhaps as a first job for someone exploring full-time paid ministry in worship or pastoral leadership, or maybe even as a year to dig deep foundations for a life serving God in a different role.

We cannot provide a salary for this post but we can provide free accommodation, a modest living allowance, and we will cover your tickets to both the Leadership Conference and Focus.

There is the opportunity to take part in River College, a training track for young leaders run locally.

It is not impossible that for the right person, this role might develop into full-time employment, though we cannot promise this at the outset.
